Darcy_1sDarcy_2s

Darcy.

Darcy is a 5 year old female and is very soft once she knows you.
I had a job taking the photos as she just wanted to stick her nose up against my face or the camera lens.
In the finish I gave up and got Julie to hold her.
In the second picture Darcy is cradled on Julie's hand with her back paws in shot!

Tinkerbelle_1sDolcie_Tinkerbelle_3sDolcie_2s

Tinkerbelle & Dolcie.
Another soft and affectionate pair of 4 year olds.
They came into the sanctuary together,
so would ideally need to be re-homed together.**
Tinkerbelle is the more outgoing of the pair,
where as Dolcie is a little more reserved.
**As Tinkerbelle and Dolcie have been with us in the sanctuary for 3 months
both the original owner and ourselves feel it is time to re-home them separately
.

She would need to be re-homed to an experienced owner in an adult only home
also she will need to be groomed on a regular basis.

Fluffy_1sFluffy_2s

Fluffy.

Fluffy is a 7 year old male.
He came from a quiet home and so would presumably be most comfortable in that situation.

Cara & Cassie.

Cara and Cassie are a pair of 6 year old sisters.

Both are extremely soft and have lived in their last home from being kittens.

Chocolate_1sChocolate_2s

Chocolate.

Chocolate is a 4 year old male.
He is a very large and heavy cat with a shiny coat.
Chocolate would need to be re-homed to a quiet home with an
experienced owner as he can on occasion be a little temperamental.
We feel sure that in the fullness of time he will calm down
as his previous owner had no problems with him.

Willow_1sWillow_2s

Willow.

Willow is a 2 year old vaccinated female who is soft and gentle and loves lots of attention.
She needs to be in a home with no children as she likes to be the pampered baby herself!.
That said she is not in any way aggressive with children, just jealous.

Jess_1sJess_2s

Jess.

Jess is a 6 year old neutered and micro-chipped female.
She is very soft and just loves attention,
this need for attention is ironically the very reason for her coming into our sanctuary.
Jess did not take too kindly to the arrival of a baby in the household.
Jess would be fine in a home with older children and adults
as she just loves to have lots of  fuss.

Kitts_wide

Kittens all shapes and sizes.

We have a large number of kittens of various ages available for homing.
Please note we will not home a kitten before it is 8 weeks old.
All our kittens are treated for fleas and worms.
As there is quite a large demand for kittens,
please ring the sanctuary to confirm availability.

Successfully re-homed cats & their stories.

Have you re-homed a cat from us?
You can post photos and stories to our staff at the sanctuary by email at:

When posting, please tell us if you would like us to add your pictures and story
to the re-homed page, as without your permission we can't add them to the site.

Many Thanks,
The THARG team.

Re-homing policy:

We ask that you read the following thoroughly, before visiting us.

Re-homing takes place on Saturday afternoons from 2 PM to 4:00 PM (a constraint primarily due to staff levels and work load). Re-homing may be available during the week for persons who have viewed our cats on Saturday and were unable to decide on a cat (basically if you have narrowed it down to a couple of cats on Saturday). These weekday re-homings are always at the sole discretion of the sanctuary manager.

In any event we ask that you please ring first.

Our homing officers will be on hand to help you to find the perfect cat or kitten for you.

1. If you are looking for a kitten, please ring the sanctuary first 0161 975 0784, as we don't always have them. This isn't necessary if you want an adult cat.

2. Please do not arrive prior to 2pm. The cattery is above our charity shop and people who arrive early and insist on waiting cause congestion in the shop. This puts shoppers off and as a result we lose money that is much needed for the cats.

3. You will need to bring two forms of identification with you: one with an address e.g. household bill, and one with a signature e.g. driving licence. Please do not be offended if we refuse to home a cat or kitten to you or we ask to do a home-check.

4. Children are welcome to visit the cattery but must be quiet, well behaved and accompanied by an adult.

5. Please be patient as you may have to wait in line for your turn to view the cats/kittens.

6. Take your time choosing and feel free to ask our homing officers any questions you may have. Cats live for 20 plus years and whichever cat you choose will become a member of your family so you must be sure. If you aren't sure, you're welcome to come back again and again until you are.

7. We only home neutered adult cats and ask people taking kittens to sign a declaration that they will have the kitten neutered at 6 months of age.

8. We ask for a minimum donation of £45 per cat/kitten which includes four weeks FREE cat insurance with PET PLAN. Donation requests for pedigrees may be higher.

9. We sell food, beds, carriers, litter trays, litter etc.
We can also micro-chip your cat/kitten (dependent on age/size of kitten) at a cost of £15.

10. If after viewing an adult cat you wish to reserve them we ask for a non refundable £10 deposit. We do not reserve kittens.
Please note the maximum reservation period is 7 Days. Reservations beyond this time will incur a charge of £10 per week.

Cats will only be allowed out of the sanctuary in secure carriers. Cardboard boxes etc. are NOT appropriate. If required carriers can be purchased from our sanctuary. It may be possible subject to availability to loan out carriers, however a fully refundable deposit will be required.

Important information:

Our estimates of the cat's ages are based upon
information we are given by previous owners, coupled with many years of experience working with cats. Please ensure when you visit our sanctuary that you are happy with the age and condition of the cat before committing to taking them home.

We reserve the right to refuse to home a cat or kitten to any person or persons. This is entirely at the discretion of the homing officer.

We look forward to seeing you sometime soon,

The THARG team.
